Surveillance cameras, which, as if by laurel wreaths, are encircled with handmade petal-like metal sheets, are installed both on the ceiling of the KADIST space and, as if a fruit fallen down from the tree, on the floor. The armors are reliquaries, holding and protecting three eyes, drawing attention to our surveillance realities, which can simultaneously be seen as states of safety and of abuse. Part of the hardware store related series of artworks, these objects secure the sacred body of the DIY religion and its founding narrative. In a perpetual loop of representation of the self-designed, glimpses of pre-recorded surveillance footage can be seen in the video work Preyer (2024) simultaneously shown at Palais de Tokyo.
